Tintin Patrone has a an artist residency in Monheim am Rhein and invited me to play a show there on August 24. Coincidentally I spent the first three years of my life in that place.

Also coindidentally on August 25 there’ll be live scores for the Maya Deren films At Land and Meshes of the Afternoon at Kunstverein Leverkusen.

Thursday June 8th I’ll play a live score to Jean Genet’s 1950 silent movie Un Chant d’amour.

At Hinterconti artspace, Balduinstr. 24 / 20359 Hamburg. There’s a sound installation that starts at 4pm, the screening is 9 pm sharp. Free admission, donations are welcome. The event is part of Blurred Edges festival for contemporary music.

Another go at playing live scores for Maya Deren’s 1940s silent films At Land and Meshes of the Afternoon on October 26th, 8 pm at Kunst & Co e.V. in Flensburg.

On July first I will perform live scores for two silent movies by Maya Deren: Meshes of the Afternoon (1943) and At Land (1944) at City 46 Kino in Bremen. Deren (*1917 in Kiev, Ukraine, † 1961 New York City) was an American director, film theorist, avantgarde dancer and expert on Haitian voodoo. Her unsettling early films bring a decidedly feminine perspective to the aesthetics of surrealist filmmaking, something I enjoy after last years score work for Un Chien Andalou by Luis Buñuel and Salvador Dali.
